Discover Card Casinos
When it comes to playing online casinos, there are a few priorities shared by every player: the quality of the games, the security of the site, and, of course, the options available when it comes time to pay or withdraw your winnings.
In many cases, casinos rely on the world's major credit cards, and the big names within the industry: Visa, American Express, and MasterCard. In recent years, however, another player has joined the game: welcome to the world of Discover Card.
Where Did Discover Card Start?
The Discover Card is a credit card originating from the parent company Discover. The brand started in 1985, and was founded by the retail giant Sears. For a number of years it was hard for the brand to be taken seriously; they found themselves the butt of jokes in mainstream media, and it took a while to gain the trust of the public.
Over time, however, Discover Card became the third most widely used credit card across the United States. The international presence of the card still leaves much to be desired, but it has developed a following amongst casino fans, where it has become the most widely accepted card on the planet, helped largely by the company's partnership with China's UnionPay network. Part of the appeal of the Discover Card comes from its simplicity, and this makes it perfect for playing casinos—after all, as a player, you want your primary focus to be on the games and potential winnings, rather than having to worry about your payment method.
How Does It Work?
In many ways, the Discover Card is very similar to other credit cards. In the world of online casinos its primary function is making deposits, and this is fast, simple and effective. To get started, you will need to have signed up and created an account at any casino site that accepts Discover as a method for transferring and withdrawing money.
The number of sites accepting the card is on the rise; while Visa and MasterCard still reign supreme in many cases, Discover Card is growing, and an increasing number of casinos are accepting the payment method.
